An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 occurred in the Caspian Sea, according to official reports.

The Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center provided details of the event to the Operative Information Center-OMM. The seismic activity was recorded at 07:36 local time, with the epicenter located at a depth of 20 kilometers below the seabed.

The Caspian Sea region is characterized by moderate seismic activity as it lies within the Alpine-Himalayan seismic belt. In Azerbaijan, the Republican Seismic Survey Center, operating under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, maintains a network of monitoring stations to track and analyze seismic movements across the country and its maritime borders to ensure public safety and the protection of strategic infrastructure.
