Xəzər dənizində zəlzələ baş verib

An earthquake has occurred in the Caspian Sea during the early hours of the morning.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Republican Seismic Survey Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences released data regarding the underground tremors. According to the center, the 3.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 02:17 local time at a depth of 12 kilometers.

The Caspian Sea region is known for its seismic activity due to its location at the intersection of several tectonic plates. While tremors of this magnitude are often not felt on land and rarely cause damage, the Republican Seismic Survey Center continuously monitors the basin to ensure public safety and provide early warnings for the coastal regions of Azerbaijan.
