Law enforcement agencies in Baku have dismantled an illegal drug trafficking network, detaining three individuals and seizing a significant quantity of narcotics. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the operation resulted in the confiscation of 34.450 kilograms of various illegal substances.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the suspects, identified as 41-year-old Orkhan Agamali, 37-year-old Zahid Aliyev, and 40-year-old Mahir Gasimov, were apprehended following targeted search operations. The Main Organized Crime Department of the MIA has initiated a criminal case, and a court has ordered the pretrial detention of all three suspects as the investigation continues.

Azerbaijan continues to intensify its crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, particularly focusing on dismantling local distribution networks and securing transit routes. The Ministry of Internal Affairs frequently conducts large-scale operations in the capital and regional centers to combat the spread of narcotics. In recent years, the Main Organized Crime Department has expanded its technical and investigative capabilities to track organized criminal groups involved in the sale of both synthetic drugs and traditional narcotics within Azerbaijan.
