A driver who performed dangerous maneuvers in Baku and shared the footage on social media has been arrested, the Baku City State Traffic Police Department told Operative Information Center-OMM.
Fariz Ismayilov, the driver of a Tofas vehicle with state registration plate 77-SG-661, was detained by traffic police officers for demonstratively violating public order and creating a serious threat to other road users. Investigations revealed that Ismayilov committed gross violations of traffic regulations and subsequently posted videos of his hooliganism on the TikTok social media platform.
An administrative protocol was filed against the driver and submitted to the relevant district court for review. By court order, Ismayilov’s driving privileges have been restricted for a period of one year, and he has been sentenced to 30 days of administrative detention. In Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Traffic Police regularly conduct monitoring of social media platforms to identify and penalize drivers who promote illegal driving behavior and endanger public safety.
