Employers operating in Azerbaijan have paid more than 108,312 manats in delayed funds to employees during January-February of the current year.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the official data was released by the State Labor Inspection Service under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Following the intervention of the agency, the full payment of these funds by employers to the workers was ensured. The distribution of the delayed funds by category was as follows:
- 96 percent — wage payments
- 4 percent — social benefits and compensation for damages
At the same time, investigations revealed that the employment contracts of 26 employees had been terminated in violation of legislative requirements. These individuals, who were illegally dismissed, have been reinstated to their previous positions.
The State Labor Inspection Service continues to monitor the protection of labor rights across the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure compliance with the Labor Code. Such measures are part of the government's broader social policy aimed at strengthening social justice and ensuring the legal rights of the workforce. Under the current regulations, employers found in violation of wage payment schedules or illegal termination protocols face administrative penalties and are required to rectify all discrepancies immediately.
