On June 26, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with military personnel who were awarded higher military ranks in accordance with the relevant decree issued by President Ilham Aliyev.

It was reported that during the event, the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated June 25, 2026, regarding the awarding of the higher military rank of "major general" to the military personnel of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the corresponding order of the Minister of Defense, were read out. Following the announcement, the officers were officially presented with their new ranks.
Conveying the congratulations of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the military personnel, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov wished them success in their future service and provided his instructions and recommendations.
The awarded officers, in turn, expressed their gratitude to President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the trust placed in them, assuring that they would continue to serve with dedication to justify this confidence.
