Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, has extended his congratulations to the personnel of the Azerbaijan Army on the occasion of the holy Eid al-Adha.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Minister's message addressed officers, warrant officers, cadets, sergeants, soldiers, sailors, and civilian staff.
"I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a holiday that embodies Islamic values, and wish you success in your sacred and honorable service to the Motherland," the Minister stated.
In his address, Minister Hasanov highlighted that Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually in Azerbaijan as a national holiday, symbolizing moral unity, solidarity, and brotherhood. He noted that the holiday reinforces the nation's commitment to national and spiritual values, reflecting the ideals of humanism, kindness, and compassion.
The Minister emphasized the legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in preserving Azerbaijan's spiritual heritage and strengthening statehood traditions. He further noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Azerbaijan has strengthened its economic foundations and international standing as a tolerant and humanist state.
"Today, the Azerbaijani state has become a primary guarantor of peace and stability in the region," the Minister stated. He underscored the historic victory of the Azerbaijan Army in the Patriotic War and subsequent anti-terror measures, which fully restored the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Minister Hasanov also acknowledged the ongoing support provided by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to the families of martyrs, war veterans, and military personnel wounded in combat. The Minister concluded by paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, wishing their families and all veterans a blessed Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant religious holidays in the Islamic calendar. In Azerbaijan, it is observed with deep respect for traditions, emphasizing charity, community support, and the strengthening of social bonds, reflecting the country's secular yet culturally rich Islamic heritage.
