Czech Republic coach comments on 0-2 loss to England

Czech Republic head coach Santi Denia has commented on his team’s match against England in Group 3 of League A of the UEFA Nations League.

The Czech team lost 0-2 to England in the second round. Gordon opened the scoring in the 47th minute, while Harry Kane sealed the final result in the 69th minute. The Czech Republic played with 10 men from the 23rd minute after Schultz was shown a red card.

“It was an extremely difficult test. Playing with 11 men required a great deal of effort, while competing with a numerical disadvantage was even more challenging. Nevertheless, I believe in this team and its development. We trust the path we have chosen. We have no doubts about what we are doing,” UEFA’s official website quoted Denia as saying.

Following the result, the Czech Republic remain bottom of the group without a point. England are second with three points.

In the third round, England will travel to face Croatia, while the Czech Republic will play Spain. Both matches will be held on Oct. 3.

The UEFA Nations League is a competition for European national teams, with results in the group stage determining promotion, relegation and qualification for the knockout phase.
