Cyberattack targets Azerbaijani government websites, officials say

As previously reported, access problems have affected the official websites of several government agencies in Azerbaijan.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security has issued a statement on the matter.

The service said cyberattack activity against Azerbaijan’s state information infrastructure had been recorded from around 10 p.m. on October 13.

“The attack was carried out by a foreign hacker group, which targeted more than 100 state domains in Azerbaijan’s state information infrastructure.

The cyberattack disrupted the operation of the internet resources of several government agencies. Technical measures were taken to contain the effects of the attack and ensure the continued availability of the websites.

The service is continuing measures to ensure cybersecurity,” the statement said.
