The official opening ceremony of the 5th "Cyber Summer School 2026" has been held in the city of Mingachevir. Bringing together hundreds of young people from various regions of Azerbaijan, the project aims to develop knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity, foster professional human capital, and contribute to gaining practical experience in this critical sector.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the project is organized by the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTA). The main partners of the camp include the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Cybersecurity Center of the State Security Service (SSS), and Mingachevir State University.
The "Cyber Summer School" project, which has been awarded the "Global Security" prize by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, is being held outside the capital for the first time this year. The primary objective of the initiative is to promote a culture of digital security in the regions, reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and expand the collaborative environment in the cybersecurity sector.
During the opening ceremony, representatives of government agencies, heads of higher education institutions, and prominent cybersecurity experts spoke about the strategic importance of digital security in the modern era, the necessity of professional personnel training, and the role of public-private partnerships. It was noted that this year, more than 100 students and pupils from 60 regions of Azerbaijan are participating in the camp, signaling a growing interest in cybersecurity across the country.
Within the framework of the camp, participants will engage in intensive training sessions covering various aspects of cybersecurity, practical laboratory exercises, team activities, meetings with experts, and "Capture The Flag" (CTF) competitions, which are widely applied in international practice. By enriching the theoretical knowledge of young people with practical skills, the project aims to contribute to their future professional careers and the overall development of the cybersecurity ecosystem in Azerbaijan.
