Former Roma and Milan forward Antonio Cassano has shared his views on Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior, saying the Brazilian is a good player but has not reached superstar status.
Cassano said Rodrygo is a better player than Vinicius and should start when fit. He added that when Vinicius is not in optimal physical condition, Real Madrid have fewer attacking options, and that the winger is not highly effective in finishing attacks.
“Vinicius scores goals, but he is not a superstar. If Rodrygo is fit, he should be in the starting lineup. I like him more and am looking forward to his return,” Cassano said, according to AS.
Vinicius Junior joined Real Madrid in July 2018, aged 18. In eight seasons with the club, he has made 375 appearances, scored 128 goals and won 14 titles. These include two Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
