Bukovina head coach Serhiy Shyshchenko has explained why the Ukrainian club signed Azerbaijan national team forward Renat Dadashov. Shyshchenko said the club had specifically been looking for a central striker during the transfer window.
According to Shyshchenko, Bukovina had tracked Dadashov before signing him. The coach described him as a natural central striker and a “number nine”, saying he understood what was expected of him on the pitch.
“He could adapt easily to my requirements. He has played for the Azerbaijan national team and featured in Germany and Türkiye,” Shyshchenko told sport.rbc.ua. The coach said he expects Dadashov’s experience to benefit the team.
Shyshchenko added that the forward still needs to regain his optimal physical condition and adapt to the team’s playing demands. Dadashov watched Bukovina’s matches before the transfer. According to the head coach, it was clear from the first training sessions that the player understood the team’s principles of play.
