A Baku-Tbilisi passenger train experienced a significant delay this morning due to a power supply failure along the Gardabani-Tbilisi railway section in Georgia.

According to information provided by Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the technical issue disrupted normal operations. To accommodate passengers who did not wish to wait for the repairs to be completed, authorities facilitated their disembarkation in Gardabani.

The train ultimately arrived in Tbilisi with a delay of 2 hours and 30 minutes. ADY officials confirmed that the disruption was caused by external infrastructure issues within the Georgian railway network.

The Baku-Tbilisi railway route serves as a critical transit link connecting Azerbaijan and Georgia, facilitating both passenger and freight transportation between the two nations. Such technical disruptions are infrequent, and railway operators in both countries maintain close coordination to ensure the safety and continuity of cross-border rail services.
