Effective June 16, the Baku Metro CJSC will implement a new train schedule across its network.

The Baku Metro CJSC informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that the decision to transition to a summer schedule is based on the conclusion of the academic year in universities and secondary schools, as well as the onset of the summer holiday period, which typically results in a decrease in passenger traffic.

Following the implementation of the new schedule, train intervals on the "28 May-Ahmedli" section will be adjusted. During peak hours on weekdays, the interval will be 2 minutes and 18 seconds; on Saturdays, it will be 2 minutes and 30 seconds; and on Sundays, the interval will be 3 minutes.

"The train schedule for the 'Bakmil' station and return routes will be published on the metro's official website. Train schedules on the Purple Line, as well as the 'Jafar Jabbarli-Khatai' and 'Hazi Aslanov-Ahmedli' sections, will remain unchanged. Monitoring and control measures will continue, and reserve trains will be kept on standby to be deployed if necessary. The summer schedule will remain in effect until the start of the new academic season," the statement from the agency noted.

The Baku Metro, which serves as the primary mode of public transportation in the capital of Azerbaijan, frequently adjusts its operational intervals to align with seasonal demand patterns, ensuring efficient resource management during periods of lower ridership.
