Bakı metrosu WUF13 günlərində gücləndirilmiş rejimə keçir

Baku Metro CJSC has announced that the capital's underground transport system will switch to an enhanced operating mode from May 17 to 22. This measure is taken in connection with the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) being hosted in Baku.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the train schedule will be adjusted to ensure safe and continuous management of passenger flow during the international event. On May 17, trains will follow a Saturday schedule with 2-minute and 30-second intervals on the "28 May–Ahmedli" section. During the remaining days of the session, the metro will operate on a peak-day schedule, reducing intervals to 1 minute and 45 seconds on the same section. Schedules for the Purple Line and shuttle services, including "Ahmedli–Hazi Aslanov" and "Jafar Jabbarli–Khatai," will remain unchanged, though reserve trains will be on standby to address any overcrowding. Additionally, 56 volunteers will be stationed at nine key metro stations to assist participants and passengers.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization and the future of cities. Hosting WUF13 in Azerbaijan underscores the country's growing role as a major hub for international diplomatic and technical events. The forum brings together government officials, urban planners, and civil society leaders from around the world to discuss urban development challenges, making efficient public transportation a critical component of the event's logistics in the capital.
