In line with the project to separate metro lines implemented by Baku Metro CJSC, train operations between the "28 May" and "Nizami" stations will be temporarily suspended starting August 15. This measure is part of a broader infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing the efficiency and safety of the city's underground rail network.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) will launch six new express bus routes starting August 14 to mitigate potential passenger congestion and ensure seamless connectivity during the metro service disruption.
The new express routes will operate between the following metro stations:
- M1: "Elmlar Akademiyasi" and "28 May";
- M2: "Inshaatchilar", "Nizami", and "28 May";
- M3: "20 Yanvar", "Nizami", and "28 May";
- M4: "20 Yanvar" and "Koroglu";
- M5: "20 Yanvar" and "Genclik";
- M6: "Elmlar Akademiyasi" and "Genclik".
In addition to the new express lines, authorities are increasing the number of buses on 20 regular routes (numbers 2, 6, 7A, 9, 10, 14, 17, 18, 26, 61, 65, 79, 85, 88, 88A, 93, 133, 165, 199, and 202) to accommodate increased passenger demand.
Furthermore, effective immediately, the terminal stops for regular routes 32, 49, 120E, and 125, which previously entered the "28 May" Transport Exchange Center, have been relocated to the vicinity of Samad Vurgun Park. Specifically, the terminal stops for routes 32 and 49 have been moved to Dilara Aliyeva Street, while routes 120E and 125 will now terminate on Pushkin Street.
These adjustments reflect the ongoing efforts by the Baku transport authorities to modernize urban mobility and provide reliable alternatives for commuters during essential infrastructure maintenance projects in the capital city.
