The number of traffic lanes on a section of Uzeyir Hajibeyli street in Baku, extending to the intersection with Kovkab Safaraliyeva street, has been increased to five.
The Azerbaijan Yerüstü Nəqliyyat Agentliyi (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport told Operative Information Center-OMM that the measures were implemented to enhance the throughput capacity of the road in this specific area.
According to the official statement, the traffic flow was optimized in response to numerous citizen requests and to alleviate congestion in the capital. This infrastructure adjustment is part of a broader initiative by the Republic of Azerbaijan to modernize urban transport systems and improve the efficiency of the capital's road network. By increasing the number of lanes, authorities aim to reduce travel time and ensure a smoother transition for vehicles moving through one of the city's busiest corridors.
