Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has scheduled additional train services on the Baku-Aghdam-Baku route in connection with the upcoming Novruz holiday.
According to information provided by the joint-stock company to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decision was made to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the festive period. Under the designated schedule, passengers will be able to travel in both directions on this route on March 21, 23, 25, and 28.
The train schedule has been set as follows: departures from Baku to Aghdam at 07:10, and from Aghdam to Baku at 18:10. ADY advises passengers to prepare for their holiday travels in advance. Tickets can be purchased at railway ticket offices, via the official ADY website, or through the "ADY Mobile" application.
The restoration of railway links to Aghdam is part of the extensive infrastructure redevelopment projects currently underway in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Following the 44-day war in 2020, the government has prioritized the integration of the Garabagh region into the national transport network to facilitate the Great Return of former internally displaced persons and to stimulate economic growth in the region. The Novruz holiday, which celebrates the arrival of spring and the Persian New Year, is one of the most significant cultural events in Azerbaijan, typically resulting in a surge of domestic travel across the country.
