Azerbaijan’s U-17 boys finish third at European Boxing Championships

Azerbaijan’s U-17 boys’ national boxing team finished third at the European Championships in Budva, Montenegro. The team won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the tournament.

In the combined standings for boys and girls, Azerbaijan placed fourth. Azerbaijani boxers finished the championships with two gold, three silver and three bronze medals overall.

Muhammadali Istamov (57 kg) and Jamila Muradli (57 kg) won gold medals. Hasrat Mammadov (46 kg), Ismayil Nasirzade (52 kg) and Sama Abbasova (66 kg) took silver.

Gardaş Rahimov (54 kg), Hidayat Mammadov (70 kg) and Khumar Jafarli (+80 kg) won bronze medals.

On October 9, the number of Azerbaijani boxers who had advanced to the semifinals of the U-17 European Championships reached eight.
