The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued an official warning to drivers regarding the high probability of icy road conditions across the country. According to a statement provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM, although the unfavorable weather conditions of recent days have relatively stabilized, the consequences of previous snowfall continue to pose significant risks to motorists.

Official reports indicate that the risk of icing remains particularly high in mountainous and foothill regions, as well as on wind-exposed areas, slopes, and bridges during the morning and evening hours. These conditions significantly increase the danger of vehicles skidding. In anticipation of increased traffic intensity on highways over the weekend, the Main State Traffic Police Department has urged drivers to remain vigilant, ensure their vehicles are technically sound and equipped for the season, and plan their journeys during daylight hours whenever possible.

Furthermore, individuals and legal entities engaged in passenger transportation are requested to prioritize safer routes to ensure public safety. In Azerbaijan, the Main State Traffic Police Department regularly issues such advisories during the winter months to mitigate traffic accidents caused by sudden temperature drops and precipitation. These measures are part of a broader national effort to enhance road safety and infrastructure resilience during seasonal weather transitions in the South Caucasus region.
