The population of Azerbaijan has increased by 7,987 people, or 0.1 percent, as of May 1, 2026, according to the latest data released by the State Statistical Committee.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the total population of the country has reached 10,270,338.
Demographic data indicates that 54.3 percent of the population resides in urban areas, while 45.7 percent live in rural regions. The gender distribution remains relatively balanced, with men accounting for 49.8 percent and women for 50.2 percent of the total population.
