Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (National Assembly) will approve a memorandum between the Government of Azerbaijan and the UN Climate Secretariat.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the draft law was discussed at today’s meeting of the parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties.
At the end of the meeting, the draft law on approving the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement on Climate Week-4 and the 30th meeting of the Adaptation Committee” was recommended for consideration at a plenary session.
The memorandum concerns arrangements for climate-related meetings and activities to be held in connection with COP29 in Baku. The UN Climate Secretariat supports the organization of negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and related international climate agreements.
