In response to the strong, gusty winds currently affecting Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has issued a renewed safety advisory for citizens visiting local beaches.
According to information provided by the Ministry to the Operative Information Center-OMM, entering the sea during these adverse weather conditions poses a direct and serious threat to human life. The Ministry strongly urges the public to strictly adhere to established safety protocols to prevent accidents and potential tragedies.
The official statement from the Ministry emphasizes: "Remember: Negligence of safety rules is a threat to our lives!"
Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and, in the event of an emergency or if assistance is required, to immediately contact the Ministry's "112" hotline.
The Absheron Peninsula, which includes the capital city of Baku, is a popular destination for beachgoers during the summer season. However, the region is frequently subject to the "Khazri," a strong, cold northern wind that can rapidly change sea conditions, creating dangerous rip currents and high waves. The Ministry of Emergency Situations maintains a constant presence at public beaches throughout the summer to monitor safety and respond to water-related incidents.
