DYP-dən sürücülərə mühüm müraciət

The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued an important appeal to drivers to ensure road safety and prevent potential accidents on the country's highways.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the department, recent observations indicate that drivers on roads of national importance in Azerbaijan frequently fail to maintain a safe following distance from the vehicles ahead. Furthermore, many motorists do not properly adhere to regulations regarding the correct positioning of vehicles on the roadway.

Experts warn that such negligence significantly increases the risk of road transport accidents. Under the requirements of Azerbaijani legislation, a driver must select a following distance based on speed and traffic conditions that allows for a safe stop if the vehicle in front suddenly decelerates or stops unexpectedly. The department emphasized that as speed increases, the distance between vehicles must be increased proportionally to ensure a sufficient reaction window.

Additionally, the exceeding of established speed limits is strictly prohibited. High speeds reduce a driver's reaction time and the ability to assess hazards promptly, which can lead to severe consequences. The Main State Traffic Police Department continues to conduct regular monitoring and awareness campaigns across Azerbaijan to improve road culture and reduce the number of fatalities and injuries resulting from traffic violations.
