Multinational tactical military exercises dubbed "Platinum Wolf 26" have officially commenced in southern Serbia.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited reports from the TASS news agency and the Serbian Ministry of Defense, the exercises are being conducted with the support of the United States European Command.

The drills involve military personnel from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, Romania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. The Serbian Ministry of Defense stated that approximately 550 military personnel have been deployed to the training grounds near the city of Bujanovac. The exercises are scheduled to continue through June 13.

The primary objective of the "Platinum Wolf 26" drills is to enhance interoperability, coordination, and cooperation skills among participating nations during peacekeeping operations. These exercises serve as a platform for military forces to refine joint tactical responses in complex operational environments.

The "Platinum Wolf" series has been organized in Serbia since 2014. The Serbian Ministry of Defense emphasizes that these drills demonstrate the country's commitment to cooperation with all international partners and its dedication to maintaining regional stability. It is worth noting that the exercises were suspended in 2022 due to a government-imposed moratorium on international military drills but were successfully resumed in 2023.
