Public hearings on the Azerbaijani language and the protection of digital sovereignty will be held in the Milli Majlis (National Assembly).
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the issue has been included in the Human Rights Committee’s work plan for the parliament’s 2026 autumn session.
The plan calls for hearings during the session on the Azerbaijani language as an integral part of national sovereignty and human rights, including the status of the Azerbaijani language in foreign countries. It also provides for discussions on protecting digital sovereignty and strengthening legal and institutional mechanisms to counter disinformation, deepfakes and manipulation technologies.
The planned discussions will address the role of language policy in preserving national identity and the importance of legal safeguards in responding to emerging digital threats.
