The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has again urged citizens to avoid travelling to areas where military operations are under way and the security situation is unstable.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the ministry’s press service head, Aykhan Hajizada, made the statement in response to a question from local media about an attack on a vessel carrying Azerbaijani citizens near the Bulgarian coast in the Black Sea.

“We once again urge Azerbaijani citizens to avoid travelling to areas where military operations are under way and the security situation is unstable, as well as working in these areas or aboard vessels travelling along high-risk routes, particularly in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov,” the statement said.

The foreign cargo ship CHELSEA-3, which had Azerbaijani citizens on board, came under attack near the Bulgarian coast in the Black Sea. All eight Azerbaijani citizens among the vessel’s 15 crew members were rescued.
