The Cabinet of Ministers has amended its decision of June 2, 2023, approving the procedure for providing financial assistance to businesses engaged in production in liberated territories for the use of utility services, including electricity, natural gas, water supply and wastewater disposal.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed the new decision.
Under the decision, the Ministry of Economy must submit to the Ministry of Finance, by July 1, a draft budget covering the funds required for the following year’s financial assistance payments, in accordance with Article 11.8 of the Law on the Budget System.
The assistance scheme concerns businesses producing goods in territories liberated from occupation and is intended to help cover costs for essential utilities. The amendment sets a deadline for the Ministry of Economy to submit its funding requirements as part of the annual budget process.
