The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued a formal advisory to motorists, urging increased vigilance and responsibility due to anticipated traffic congestion over the weekend, compounded by rainy and windy weather conditions in several regions.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the department.
The department advised road users to accurately assess weather and road conditions, adjust speed limits accordingly, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid abrupt maneuvers or sudden braking. "Drivers must account for slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility during rainfall, while exercising caution against potential loss of vehicle control during windy weather," the statement noted.
Furthermore, officials emphasized the necessity of ensuring vehicle technical readiness before travel, specifically highlighting the importance of checking tires, lighting systems, and windshield wipers. "To ensure a safe and pleasant weekend, we call on everyone to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and remain sensitive to the safety of themselves and other road users," the department added.
