The minimum wage in Azerbaijan will be reviewed at least once a year following new legislative amendments. President Ilham Aliyev has officially approved the changes to the Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure the regular adjustment of the lowest salary threshold in the country.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the revised law mandates that the relevant executive authority will review the minimum wage amount at least once per year. These reviews will be conducted based on proposals submitted by designated government bodies to ensure that the wage levels remain aligned with the current economic conditions and social requirements in Azerbaijan.
This initiative is part of the broader social reform package implemented by the government to enhance the social welfare of the population. By institutionalizing an annual review process, Azerbaijan aims to provide more predictable income growth for low-income workers and maintain the purchasing power of citizens against inflationary pressures. Such measures are consistent with the state's long-term strategy to improve living standards and strengthen social protection mechanisms across the Republic.
