Azerbaijan is set to take a significant step in its digital transformation journey with the launch of the "Electronic Participation" portal by the end of this year.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this initiative is part of a strategic document signed today by President Ilham Aliyev. The decree approves the "Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development for 2026–2028," marking a new phase in the nation's technological advancement.

According to the document, a primary objective for the coming years is to improve Azerbaijan's global standing in the E-Government Development Index. To achieve this, the government will begin implementing a specialized series of measures designed to enhance digital interaction between citizens and the state. The financial backing for these projects will be provided through the state budget and other legally approved sources.

The introduction of the "Electronic Participation" portal is expected to foster greater transparency and civic engagement in Azerbaijan. By providing a centralized platform for public feedback and digital services, the initiative aligns with Azerbaijan's long-term strategy to modernize its administrative infrastructure and integrate innovative solutions into the public sector, following international best practices in digital governance.
