Azerbaijan to increase defense and national security spending

Azerbaijan’s defense and national security spending is expected to increase by 1.1% next year.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the increase is outlined in the Finance Ministry’s statement on the preliminary indicators for Azerbaijan’s 2027 consolidated and state budgets.

Azerbaijan’s defense and national security spending is projected to reach 8.816 billion manats next year. This is 98.6 million manats, or 1.1%, more than in 2026.

Defense and national security spending amounted to 8.717 billion manats in 2026, according to the ministry.

Defense and national security allocations are part of Azerbaijan’s annual budget planning and cover the country’s defense capabilities and national security needs. The final figures will be confirmed during the budget approval process.
