The athletes who will represent Azerbaijan at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, have been confirmed.
According to the National Olympic Committee, Azerbaijan will compete in eight sports with 13 athletes. The 23-member delegation also includes eight coaches, a mission chief and a doctor.
The Azerbaijani athletes are:
- Beach wrestling: Gunel Karimli (55 kg), Tunar Guliyev (70 kg), Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg), Elgun Karimli (90 kg);
- Swimming: Suleyman Ismayilzade, Maryam Javadova;
- Taekwondo: Zahra Isayeva (44 kg), Adil Kazimli (73 kg);
- Boxing: Gular Huseynova (51 kg);
- Fencing: Abbas Huseynov;
- Road cycling: Nihad Khudoyev;
- Judo: Ibrahim Talibov (55 kg);
- Athletics: Daniil Shuvayev.
The opening ceremony will take place on October 31, and the closing ceremony on November 13.
