The Main State Traffic Police Department (BDYPİ) of Azerbaijan has issued a formal appeal to road users regarding the current unstable weather conditions across the country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the department has urged drivers to exercise heightened caution and vigilance, taking into account both the prevailing weather and the condition of the roads.

"In conditions of precipitation and limited visibility, drivers must reduce speed, increase the following distance between vehicles, avoid sudden maneuvers and harsh braking, and ensure the proper use of vehicle lighting systems," the statement emphasized.

The department also addressed pedestrians, advising them to be particularly careful on the roads. "Reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces during rainy weather can significantly increase the stopping distance of vehicles. Therefore, pedestrians should only cross roads at designated crossings, avoid stepping onto the roadway unexpectedly, and refrain from using devices that distract attention while crossing," the appeal noted.

The Main State Traffic Police Department concluded by once again calling on all road users to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and demonstrate responsibility during the expected adverse weather conditions to ensure public safety.

The Main State Traffic Police Department, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, frequently issues such advisories during seasonal weather changes to prevent traffic accidents and ensure the safety of citizens on the country's road network.
