Qubanın üç kəndinin adının dəyişdirilməsi qəbul edilib

The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan has officially approved a bill to rename several territorial units within the Quba district during its plenary session today.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the legislative project was discussed and adopted in a single reading. According to the document, the village of Vladimirovka, located within the Vladimirovka rural administrative-territorial district, has been renamed Elbir. Consequently, the administrative district itself will now be known as the Elbir rural administrative-territorial district.

The bill further stipulates that the village of Alekseyevka will be renamed Chinarli, and the village of Timiryazev will now be known as Bahrali. Following these changes, the Alekseyevka rural administrative-territorial district has been redesignated as the Chinarli rural administrative-territorial district. Officials noted that these changes were prepared based on recommendations from the Toponymy Commission of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly).

The renaming of residential areas in Azerbaijan is part of a broader state policy to restore historical toponyms and align geographical names with the national language and heritage. Quba, located in the northeastern part of the country, is one of Azerbaijan's most significant agricultural and tourism hubs. The Toponymy Commission regularly reviews geographical names across the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure they reflect the country's cultural identity and historical legacy.
