In Azerbaijan, the average monthly temperature in August is expected to be close to the climatic norm, with some regions experiencing slightly higher temperatures. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this forecast was released by the National Hydrometeorological Service.
The service indicated that monthly precipitation levels are generally expected to remain near the climatic norm across the country.
While the beginning of the month is expected to be largely dry across most regions, short-term rains accompanied by lightning are possible in some mountainous and foothill areas.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the average monthly temperature is forecast to be 26-28°C, which is near or slightly above the climatic norm. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range between 22-27°C, while daytime temperatures will likely reach 30-35°C, with peaks near 40°C during certain days of the first and second ten-day periods. Monthly precipitation is expected to be near the norm (6-8 mm).
In the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, including Nakhchivan city, Julfa, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, and Sharur districts, temperatures are expected to average 27-29°C. Nighttime temperatures will be 22-27°C, with daytime highs of 33-38°C, potentially reaching 41°C on some days. Precipitation is expected to be near the norm (6-10 mm).
For the liberated territories, including Khankendi, Shusha, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdam, Goranboy, Dashkasan, and Gadabay, the average monthly temperature is projected to be 22-25°C. Nighttime temperatures will range from 15-20°C, while daytime highs will reach 22-27°C, with peaks of 34-38°C in the first two ten-day periods. Precipitation is expected to be near the norm (26-55 mm).
In Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Qubadli, Lachin, and Zangilan, temperatures are expected to average 23-25°C. Nighttime temperatures will be 15-20°C, with daytime highs of 22-27°C, potentially reaching 35-38°C. Precipitation is expected to be near the norm (15-37 mm).
