During the 2025-2026 academic year, the Quality Assurance in Education Agency (TKTA) received 5,607 applications regarding the recognition of foreign qualifications.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this data was released in the latest report by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The report indicates that the expert review process has been completed for 4,030 of these applications, while the evaluation of the remaining 1,577 applications is currently ongoing.
"As a result of the expert review, 3,266 applications received a positive assessment, and certificates of recognition for qualifications obtained abroad were issued to the applicants. Conversely, 764 foreign qualifications were denied recognition within the territory of Azerbaijan," the ministry stated.
Among the countries most frequently represented in the completed applications are Türkiye (1,400), Russia (998), and Ukraine (593).
The recognition of foreign diplomas is a critical process managed by the Ministry of Science and Education to ensure that educational standards meet the requirements of the Azerbaijani labor market. This procedure helps maintain academic integrity and ensures that professionals entering the workforce possess verified and accredited credentials from recognized international institutions.
