Azerbaijan recorded 1,696 twin births and 60 triplet births in January-July this year.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reported, citing the State Statistics Committee.
The committee said 48,954 newborns were registered during the period.
Compared with the same period last year, the number of births per 1,000 people decreased from 9.2 to 8.2.
Boys accounted for 53.4% of the newborns, while girls accounted for 46.6%.
A total of 35,829 deaths were also registered in Azerbaijan in January-July. Compared with the corresponding period of 2025, the number of deaths per 1,000 people increased from 5.9 to 6.
Birth and mortality rates per 1,000 people are commonly used to assess population trends and changes in natural population growth.
