Azerbaijan recalls ambassador to Malaysia

Irfan Shakir oglu Davudov has been recalled from his position as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Malaysia and concurrently to Brunei Darussalam.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect, officially ending the diplomat's tenure in both Southeast Asian nations.

The recall of diplomatic representatives is a standard procedure within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, often occurring at the conclusion of a diplomat's term or as part of broader rotations within the country's foreign service. Ambassadors typically serve multi-year terms, during which they work to strengthen bilateral political, economic, and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the host nations.
