President Ilham Aliyev has proposed establishing a scholarship program for students from Laos to study in Azerbaijan.
According to “Operative Information Center-OMM, Aliyev made the remarks in Baku while delivering a statement to the media alongside Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith.
The head of state recalled that many students from Laos studied in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era.
The proposal builds on the educational links between Azerbaijan and Laos dating back to that period. Scholarships could give Lao students an opportunity to pursue higher education in Azerbaijan and further strengthen academic cooperation between the two countries.
