The Azerbaijan Tourism Board organized a series of promotional events in Russia from March 16-18 to showcase the country's diverse travel opportunities.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the events, held in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, featured 13 local tourism industry representatives, including the Shahdag Tourism Center and Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL).

More than 240 Russian travel companies and media representatives attended the meetings, where Azerbaijan was presented as an attractive year-round tourism destination. Participants were provided with detailed information regarding Azerbaijan's potential in health tourism, gastronomy, culture, and business events (MICE), followed by B2B format meetings to foster bilateral cooperation. Rahman Mustafayev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation, also attended the event held in Moscow.

Russia remains one of the primary source markets for Azerbaijan's tourism sector, supported by simplified visa procedures and extensive flight connections between major cities. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly expanded its infrastructure to accommodate the growing interest in mountain resorts like Shahdag and the therapeutic wellness centers in regions such as Naftalan. These promotional roadshows are part of a broader national strategy to diversify the economy and establish Azerbaijan as a leading regional hub for both leisure and professional travel.
