Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities have detained another social media user as part of ongoing measures against the dissemination of content that violates ethical norms. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the individual, identified as Aligismat Nazarov, was taken into custody following offensive remarks made during a live broadcast on the TikTok platform.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) confirmed that an official protocol was drawn up against Nazarov for the placement of prohibited information on internet information resources or telecommunications networks. Following the legal proceedings, a court issued a decision for the administrative arrest of Nazarov.
In recent months, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant authorities in Azerbaijan have intensified monitoring of social media platforms to combat the spread of unethical content, hate speech, and information that contradicts national values. These measures are conducted in accordance with the Law on Information, Informatization, and Protection of Information, which regulates the legal framework for digital content and empowers law enforcement to take administrative action against violators to ensure public order and digital safety in Azerbaijan.
