Azerbaijan pays 7 billion manats in social benefits in eight months

The State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population paid 7 billion manats to people in pensions, benefits, allowances and targeted state social assistance from January through August this year.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population issued the statement.

Of this amount, 5.222 billion manats was paid in pensions, 961 million manats in benefits, 542 million manats in allowances and 270 million manats in targeted state social assistance during the eight-month period.

The amount paid for pensions, benefits, allowances and targeted state social assistance from January through August was 633 million manats, or 10 percent, higher than in the same period last year.

These payments are part of Azerbaijan’s social protection system, which provides regular support to pensioners, eligible citizens and low-income families through state-funded programs.
