Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis has approved in the first reading a bill authorizing a competent body to determine the measures that may be applied to dangerous goods and the procedures for implementing them.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that amendments to the Law on Technical Regulation were discussed at today’s parliamentary plenary session.
The bill adds a new subparagraph, 15.5, to Article 15 of the law.
The amendment establishes a legal basis for measures involving goods covered by technical regulations and considered hazardous to human life and health. Under the new provision, such goods may be recalled from the market, removed from circulation, seized, transported, stored, rendered harmless or destroyed. These measures will be carried out in accordance with procedures set by the body designated by the relevant executive authority. The aim is to prevent dangerous goods from remaining on the market and harming people’s lives and health.
After discussion, the bill was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
