First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, has met with a delegation led by Major General Muhammad Imran Khan Babar, Chief of the Foreign Military Cooperation Directorate of the Pakistani Defense Forces, who is currently on a visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Defense reported that the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral defense ties.
During the meeting, Colonel General Valiyev emphasized that the relations between the two nations are rooted in deep friendship and brotherhood, expressing satisfaction with the current state of the strategic partnership. The Chief of the General Staff noted that regular meetings between the leadership of the defense agencies provide new dynamics and substance to military cooperation.
In response, Major General Muhammad Imran Khan Babar expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, stating that such reciprocal visits make positive contributions to bilateral military cooperation between the two countries.
The parties engaged in a detailed exchange of views on military education, military-technical cooperation, joint exercises, and other issues of mutual interest.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan have long maintained strong defense ties, frequently conducting joint military exercises and sharing expertise in military training and education. This partnership is a cornerstone of the broader strategic cooperation between Baku and Islamabad, which spans political, economic, and security sectors.
