On June 22, a ceremony was held via video conference for the donation of the "Dostlug" oil tanker, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the "Dostlug" oil tanker, gifted by Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, was constructed at the Baku Shipyard.
The tanker measures 141 meters in length, 16.9 meters in width, and has a draft of 4.54 meters. With a deadweight of 7,875 tons, the vessel's construction in Azerbaijan not only highlights the advancement of the nation's shipbuilding industry but also serves as a testament to the strengthening of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Furthermore, the project underscores the capability of the Baku Shipyard to execute large-scale and technologically complex shipbuilding initiatives.
To date, the Baku Shipyard has successfully completed the construction of 14 vessels and carried out repair projects for over 170 ships. Currently, the shipyard's order portfolio includes 17 vessels, with 11 under construction and 6 in the design phase. This collaboration reflects the growing strategic partnership between the two Caspian nations, particularly in the energy and logistics sectors, which are vital for regional connectivity.
