New legal standards regarding dress code requirements for teachers in public general education institutions have been formalized in Azerbaijan. This development follows amendments to the Law on General Education, which were signed into law by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the primary objective of these legislative changes is to clarify the legal framework governing professional conduct and to ensure a unified approach to appearance standards across all public schools in the country.
The legislation emphasizes the creation of a clear legal basis for teacher attire, aiming to strengthen the professional work environment and organizational culture within public educational institutions. By standardizing these expectations, the Ministry seeks to foster a more disciplined and professional atmosphere for both students and staff.
In accordance with the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev regarding the implementation of this law, the Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with a two-month deadline. During this period, the Cabinet must approve specific requirements for teacher attire in public schools and report the finalized standards to the head of state.
This initiative is part of broader efforts in Azerbaijan to modernize the education sector, ensuring that pedagogical staff maintain an appearance consistent with their professional status and the educational environment.
