A shipment of propane gas from Russia to Armenia has been transported via transit through the territory of Azerbaijan, marking the latest in a series of such logistical operations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a cargo consisting of 7 railcars, totaling 242 tons of propane, was dispatched on August 24 from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC toward the Boyuk Kasik border crossing.
To date, significant volumes of various goods have been transported from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijani transit routes, including over 50,000 tons of grain, nearly 9,000 tons of fertilizer, 1,172 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of timber. Additionally, Azerbaijan has exported nearly 15,000 tons of diesel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline to Armenia.
These transit operations underscore Azerbaijan's strategic position as a critical transport and logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By facilitating the movement of goods through its infrastructure, Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate its commitment to regional connectivity and international transit standards, despite the complex geopolitical landscape of the region.
