Azerbaijan detains 20 individuals for border violations

During the past month, 20 individuals were detained for violating the state border of Azerbaijan, according to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Border Service.

The authorities reported that the detainees included citizens from various countries: 7 from Iran, 3 from Azerbaijan, 2 from Morocco, 2 from Nigeria, 2 from Algeria, 1 from Afghanistan, 1 from Turkey, 1 from India, and 1 from Pakistan.

Furthermore, as part of ongoing measures to combat illegal migration, border guards successfully intercepted 9 additional individuals who attempted to cross the state border using forged date stamps, falsified passports, or documents belonging to other persons.

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan maintains rigorous control over the country's borders to ensure national security and prevent transnational crimes, including human trafficking and illegal migration. These operations are part of a broader, consistent effort by the Azerbaijani government to secure its territorial integrity and uphold international border management standards.
