The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved the "Rules for conducting inspections of gas facilities, gas lines, and chimneys, as well as ventilation and air exchange lines by the gas distribution system operator." Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the relevant decree to enhance safety standards across the country's gas infrastructure.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the new regulations were developed in accordance with the Law "On Gas Supply." The inspections, which will be conducted free of charge by the gas distribution system operator, aim to ensure that gas appliances and lines at the boundary of balance ownership are in working condition and comply with technical safety requirements. For business entities, these inspections will be carried out in compliance with the Law "On regulation of inspections in the field of entrepreneurship and protection of interests of entrepreneurs."

The Cabinet of Ministers stated that the primary objective of these inspections is to identify potential defects or violations to prevent accidents. "The adoption of this decision serves to increase the level of safety in gas facilities, prevent possible risks, and form a unified and systematic control mechanism in the field of gas supply," the Cabinet noted. This move is part of Azerbaijan's broader efforts to modernize its energy infrastructure and ensure public safety in residential and commercial sectors. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly invested in its domestic gas distribution network to meet growing demand and improve service reliability for its citizens.
